About Seventh-day Adventists
The Seventh-day Adventist Church is a Protestant Christian church with over 20 million members worldwide, including more than one million members in North America. The Seventh-day Adventist Church has a mission to call people to be disciples of Jesus Christ, and tell to tell the world that Jesus is coming again soon.
Adventists believe in Salvation by grace, through faith in Jesus Christ alone. We believe in keeping the Sabbath on the seventh day of the week (Saturday), just as God sanctified it in the beginning (Genesis 2:2-3). Adventists believe that God is concerned about how we live our lives, and that everything—the way we live, eat, speak, think, treat each other, and care for the world around us—is part of His plan. Our families, our children, our jobs, our talents, our money, and our time are all important to Him.
The film below gives a good history of the second-advent movement and the founding of the Seventh-day Adventist church. It will introduce you to the mission of the founders that is carried forward to this day: to tell the world that Jesus is coming again soon.
